Description
Aluminum Bronze Rod for Industrial Applications — High Strength, Corrosion Resistance & Long Service Life
Aluminum Bronze Rod is a copper alloy for the most demanding industrial applications where other materials fail. The aluminium content is usually 5-12% . It is reinforced with iron , nickel , manganese and silicon . The alloy forms a self-healing alumina (Al2O3) surface layer that offers the alloy mechanical strength and corrosion resistance.
Each bar has more than 25 years of copper alloy manufacturing experience. Dongguan Jiaye Dingsheng Precision Casting & Forging Co., Ltd. was founded in 1997. Materials fully traceable, Mill Test Certificates provided with each shipment. Certified ISO 9001.

What Is Aluminum Bronze Rod?
Aluminum Bronze Rod is not a single alloy but a series of copper alloys of which aluminium is the principal alloying ingredient. The aluminium content provides an oxide layer resistant to sea water, acids and oxidation at high temperatures.
Common grades include C95400 (cast, general use), C63000 (wrought, high strength, marine grade) and C63200 (nickel aluminium bronze, superior corrosion resistance). Each grade is characterised by load, environment and service life.
It’s a highly popular material when you desire a 20+ year service life without protective coatings.

Material Composition & Alloying Elements
The matrix is based on copper and the main strengthening phase is aluminium. Additional trace elements for greater overall performance: Iron refines the grain structure to enhance hardness and wear resistance . Nickel increases the resistance of corrosion in seawater and at high temperatures .
Manganese deoxidizes the melt and improves hot workability; silicon improves fluidity and reduces internal porosity. All components are controlled and regulated by OES spectral detection.
Core Performance Advantages
Self-healing corrosion resistance. The alumina oxide coating is able to self-heal after damage and replace coated steel in the maritime and chemical industries.
Non-sparking: The stable friction and heat performance is suitable for explosion-proof places such as chemical plant and oil facilities.
High load capacity : High tensile strength to handle large mechanical load operation to prevent deformation and cracking.
Low magnetism & anti-fouling: Prevents magnetic interference and minimises the attachment of marine organisms to subsea equipment.
Typical Industry Applications
This alloy is used extensively in offshore marine bearings and pump bodies and valve components. It is suitable for oil and gas explosion-proof tools and valve components. It is utilised in mechanical wear plates, gears and accessories of hydraulic systems, low-magnetic defence equipments and chemical processing pipeline fittings.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Difference between C95400 and C63000?
A1: Conventional applications employ C95400 cast. The stronger wrought alloy C63000 has better resistance to ocean corrosion.
Q2. Is aluminium bronze weldable?
A2: TIG, MIG welding with preheating and selection of welding wires to avoid fractures.
Q3: Why is it non sparking?
A3: Its thermal and processing properties are stable, and may be changed according to the explosion-proof zone without high temperature particles during friction.
Q4: Do you need a surface anti-corrosion coating?
A4: The intrinsic oxide layer provides stable corrosion protection, therefore no further coating is needed.
Q5. What are the machining tools?
A5: Not very machinable, requires carbide tools and proper cutting conditions.
Q6. What are the industry standards followed?
A6: Manufactured to ASTM B150, EN 12163, DIN & BS 2874.
