Description
Beryllium Copper Spring Strip for Precision Electronics — High Fatigue Resistance & Stable Spring Performance
Beryllium Copper Spring Strip (C17200 / Alloy 25) is commonly used in precision electronics, relay contacts, micro-switches, and battery connections, where reliable spring memory and constant electrical conductivity are important.
With over 25 years of expertise in the business, Dongguan Jiaye Dingsheng Precision Casting & Forging Co., Ltd. has focused on producing copper alloy strips since 1997. The strip has a maximum width of 300 mm and a thickness range of 0.05 mm to 2.5 mm in accordance with ASTM B194 specifications. Tensile strength can reach 1320 MPa and hardness can range from 36 to 42 HRC following age treatment.
The goods are certified ISO 9001 and comply with REACH and RoHS regulations. A 3.1 Mill Test Certificate is included with every shipment.

What Is Beryllium Copper Spring Strip?
Beryllium Copper Spring Strip is a thin-gauge, cold-rolled copper alloy composed of 1.80–2.00% beryllium with at least 0.20% cobalt and nickel, derived from C17200 (Alloy 25) base material. Because of its stable composition, the material can both conduct electricity and sustain elastic spring tension, something that phosphor bronze and stainless steel cannot do simultaneously.
For flexible use, there are two common tempers. Spring pieces may be directly assembled using cold-rolled H02/H04 temper. For intricate stamping and shaping, annealed soft temper is utilized. It is then aged for two to three hours at 315°C to fully develop mechanical qualities.

Key Performance Advantages
The material achieves a yield strength of 950–1150 MPa after age treatment, enabling millions of cycles of automated recovery and repetitive deflection in relay blades and connector contacts. Throughout the component's service life, it keeps the clamping force constant by maintaining stable contact pressure under prolonged mechanical strain and in hot conditions up to 200°C.
It is appropriate for dynamic spring contact components and micro-switches due to its steady fatigue strength during high-frequency cycling. The material is resistant to corrosion from salt fog and air tarnish, and its non-magnetic nature eliminates signal interference in precision electronic applications. To further improve component stability, surface plating made of nickel, silver, and gold is supported.
Quality Control Process
All finished coils and strips undergo full-process standardized inspection. We adopt laser micrometers for real-time monitoring, controlling thickness tolerance within ±0.002mm. OES spectrometry verifies chemical composition to ensure standard beryllium content. Mechanical properties are tested in accordance with ASTM E8 standards, and grain structure complies with ASTM E112 specifications to avoid stamping defects. V-block bend testing and eddy current conductivity testing are implemented for each batch, with full production traceability and complete certification documents.

Application Scenarios
Beryllium Copper Spring Strip applies to multiple precision industries: precision electronic connector springs and PCB clips; relay contact blades and micro-switch components; battery terminals and EV charging contacts; automotive electronic sensors and ECU connectors; non-magnetic contact parts for aerospace and defense control systems.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What is the correct processing sequence for forming and aging hardening?
A1: Complete stamping and forming under annealed or half-hard temper first, then conduct heat treatment at 315°C for 2–3 hours to reach standard hardness and conductivity.
Q2: Is the strip compatible with electroplating?
A2: Yes, gold, silver and nickel plating are all applicable, which can improve solderability and reduce contact resistance for electronic assembly.
Q3: Is the material applicable for consumer electronic products?
A3: Solid finished beryllium copper is safe and non-toxic. Relevant protection measures are only required during cutting, grinding and other processing procedures.
Q4: How does it differ from 301 stainless steel spring strips?
A4: Stainless steel costs less, while this beryllium copper strip has higher conductivity and better stress relaxation resistance, suitable for conductive spring components.
Q5: What is the fatigue life of this material?
A5: It maintains 310–360 MPa fatigue strength under 10⁸ cycles, with better cycling stability than phosphor bronze and brass materials.
Q6: What certification documents can be provided?
A6: Each order is equipped with a complete 3.1 Mill Test Certificate, covering composition, hardness, conductivity and dimensional data with full batch traceability.
