Description

Beryllium Copper Strip 0.5mm for Electronic Springs & Power Terminals — High Strength, Precision Tolerance

For thin-gauge electronic applications, Beryllium Copper Strip 0.5mm (UNS C17200/Alloy 25) strikes a balance between electrical conductivity and reliable mechanical strength. After precipitation hardening, the strip achieves 1110–1320 MPa tensile strength and 22–25% IACS conductivity. It is manufactured in accordance with ASTM B194 with a thickness tolerance of ±0.015mm. It resolves typical engineering problems including high-temperature stress relaxation and cycle fatigue failure. For a reliable batch supply, our plant has more than 25 years of expertise manufacturing copper alloys.

What Is Beryllium Copper Strip 0.5mm?

C17200 beryllium copper is an alloy based on copper that contains at least 0.20% Co+Ni and 1.80–2.00% beryllium. It is non-magnetic (permeability < 1.001), spark-resistant, and reaches hardness and tensile strength similar to alloy steel at 0.5mm precise gage.

The material is available in three temper conditions:

  • Annealed (TB00): Maximum formability for complex stamping shapes
  • Cold-Rolled (H02/H04): Intermediate strength for moderate forming
  • Precipitation Heat-Treated (TF00): Maximum hardness and spring performance after forming

This flexibility means you can form complex geometries in the soft state, then age-harden to peak strength — a significant process advantage over pre-hardened alternatives.

Key Product Advantages

Stable Dimensional Accuracy: During progressive die manufacture of Beryllium Copper Strip 0.5mm, consistent thickness tolerance minimizes tool wear and stamping mistakes.

Stable Elastic Performance: Suitable for long-cycle mechanical operation, the yield strength of 950–1150 MPa prevents permanent deformation during repeated bending.

Flexible Processing: Bending and blanking are supported by annealed and half-hard tempers. Hardness is maintained without dimensional changes by low-temperature aging following formation.

Low Contact Resistance: For high-frequency electronic connections, steady conductivity guaranties low-loss signal and power transfer.

Safe & Stable Application: The non-magnetic construction operates steadily in combustible and delicate electrical situations.

High-Temperature Stability: Upholds a steady clamping force under prolonged high-temperature loads for server and automotive connection applications.

Situations for Applications

It protects ECU contacts and car battery connections from vibration and temperature swings. For consistent performance at a range of temperatures, the material is suitable for aircraft EMI shielding components. Additionally, it is frequently utilized in precise electronic springs for long-term signal transmission and mechanical actuation as well as telecom coaxial connections.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Which temper is suitable for custom forming?
A1: TB00 or H02 temper is for complex stamping and bending. Post-forming aging reaches standard hardness; TF00 temper is available for direct use.

Q2: What is the minimum bend radius for 0.5mm strip?
A2: Annealed temper supports smaller bending radii. Hard tempers need larger radii to prevent surface cracks during forming.

Q3: Is the material applicable for consumer electronics?
A3: Yes. Solid finished strip complies with RoHS and REACH. Only dust-generating processing needs ventilation protection.

Q4: How does it differ from 301 stainless steel?
A4: It provides higher conductivity and better high-temperature stress relaxation resistance, suitable for conductive spring component production.

Q5: What quality files can be provided?
A5: Each order includes EN 10204 3.1 certificates covering composition, mechanical properties, and conductivity, with full batch traceability.
