Description
Beryllium Copper Shaft Sleeve for Rotating Shaft Protection — High Hardness, Non-Sparking & Precision CNC Machined
Founded in 1997, Dongguan Jiaye Dingsheng Precision Casting & Forging Co., Ltd. has over 25 years of expertise in the manufacture and processing of copper alloys. The raw material used in our Beryllium Copper Shaft Sleeve is C17200 (Alloy 25), which has a beryllium concentration of 1.80–2.00%. The product achieves 38–44 HRC hardness and 1130–1400 MPa tensile strength following precipitation hardening treatment. Running concentricity is regulated within ±0.005mm, and outer diameter diameters ranging from 12mm to 450mm are supported. Every product is supplied with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certifications and conforms with ISO 9001:2015 quality system requirements.

What Is a Beryllium Copper Shaft Sleeve?
A precise rotating protective element composed of C17200/CuBe2 copper-beryllium alloy, the Beryllium Copper Shaft Sleeve is primarily used to shield equipment shafts from corrosion, wear, galling, and thermal aging.
This component has steel-grade mechanical strength and 105–130 W/m·K thermal conductivity, which is three to five times that of regular tool steel, as compared to traditional bronze bushings. In order to prevent operational thermal seizure, it rapidly dissipates frictional heat on dynamic sealing surfaces. Thermal seizure under high-speed rotation, adhesive wear and galling, and electrochemical corrosion in chemical and marine working conditions are three major industrial equipment problems that this solution resolves.

Principal Benefits of Performance
Stable mechanical and physical characteristics are provided by Beryllium Copper Shaft Sleeve to accommodate a variety of heavy-duty operating circumstances.
Anti-Galling & Shaft Protection: When combined with dynamic seals and hardened steel shafts, a hardness of 38–44 HRC inhibits metal adhesion, surface scratching, and fretting corrosion.
Quick Heat Dissipation: A thermal conductivity of 105–130 W/m·K effectively dissipates frictional heat, avoiding seal heat accumulation problems that are frequently seen on titanium and stainless steel sleeves.
Non-Sparking and Non-Magnetic: For directional drilling equipment and aviation gearbox systems, low magnetic permeability eliminates magnetic interference. Non-sparking qualities might be useful in petrochemical and offshore applications involving flammable materials.
It protects centrifugal pumps and downhole equipment against corrosion caused by seawater, hydrogen sulphide, industrial acid liquid, and abrasive slurry.
Thermal Cycle Dimensional Stability: After repeated thermal expansion and contraction, the outer diameter is accurately honed to Ra 0.2-0.4 µm with continuous concentricity, maintaining stable interference fit and sealing clearance.
Situations for Applications
Oil and Gas Downhole Tools: When combined with MWD and LWD equipment, this product enables steady operation in HPHT downhole settings and has non-magnetic properties that endure drilling mud abrasion.
Centrifugal Pump Shaft Protection: Designed for slurry pump operation, chemical processing, and water treatment, its smooth surface reduces packing and seal wear.
marine propeller shaft sleeves: Meets safety criteria for maritime fuel transfer with non-sparking performance and resists chloride stress corrosion cracking after prolonged saltwater immersion.
Aerospace landing gear bushings: Their excellent strength and corrosion resistance allow for flexible operation in a wide range of temperature and impact loads.
Plastic injection molding's strong heat conductivity accelerates mould cooling. Ejector sleeves and guide bushings maintain their dimensions during high-frequency movement due to tight machining tolerance.
Procedure for Quality Control
Each shaft sleeve is subjected to a thorough process check prior to delivery. The alloy composition and beryllium content are validated by OES spectrum analysis. Rockwell hardness testing is used to validate the ageing treatment. Dimensions are measured using a laser micrometre and CMM to verify concentricity within ±0.005mm. Surface roughness testing fulfils the grinding standards. Eddy current and ultrasonic NDT are utilised to detect interior pores and microcracks. Material batch traceability is complete, with test results to EN 10204 3.1 provided for each shipment.
Capabilities for Custom Manufacturing
We provide non-standard customised processing, including prototype and mass manufacture, in line with client specifications. The customisable elements are ID/OD, wall thickness, total length, and temper state (TB00 or AT/TF00). Surface finishes and alloy parameters may be changed within the C17200 range. Quotes are provided within 24 hours, with stock delivered in 3-5 days.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Why choose beryllium copper shaft sleeves over brass or bronze sleeves?
A1: Beryllium copper has higher thermal conductivity and fatigue strength. Under high-speed, high-load conditions, it maintains stable dimensions and heat dissipation, while brass and bronze deform and accumulate heat.
Q2: Are finished beryllium copper sleeves safe to handle?
A2: Yes. Solid finished parts are safe for daily assembly and use. Only dust from grinding and machining needs ventilation treatment per operating specifications.
Q3: How does the product perform in marine environments?
A3: It resists chloride corrosion and marine biofouling, operating stably in long-term saltwater conditions with better performance than ordinary stainless steel.
Q4: Is thin-wall customized processing available?
A4: Yes. High elastic modulus supports thin-wall structural design without losing stability, suitable for installation spaces with limited radial size.
Q5: What lubricant is suitable for long-term use?
A5: The material has basic anti-galling properties. Extreme pressure grease or synthetic lubricating oil extends service life under cyclic heavy-duty operation.
Q6: What certification documents can be provided?
A6: Each batch includes EN 10204 3.1 test reports covering chemical composition, hardness, and conductivity data, with complete batch traceability records.
