Description
C17510 Beryllium Nickel Copper Ring for High-Conductivity Sealing and Welding Applications
Dongguan Jiaye Dingsheng Precision Casting & Forging Co., Ltd. was founded in 1997 and uses radial ring forging and vacuum melting to produce C17510 beryllium nickel copper rings. This precipitation-hardened copper alloy ring satisfies ISO 5182, ASTM B534, ASTM B441, and RWMA Class 3 requirements. The basis material of the alloy is copper, with 0.20–0.60% beryllium and 1.40–2.20% nickel. It has outer diameters ranging from 20 mm to 1200 mm, concentricity regulated within ±0.005 mm, and 45–60% IACS electrical conductivity and 240 W/m·K thermal conductivity.

What Is C17510 Beryllium Nickel Copper Ring?
In contrast to cobalt-beryllium C17500 and high-strength C17200 copper alloys, C17510 is a nickel-beryllium copper alloy. The alloy matrix is stabilized at 300°C by its 1.40–2.20% nickel content, preventing stress relaxation and preserving stable conductivity under constant thermal load.
The C17510 beryllium nickel copper ring balances heat dissipation, wear resistance, and structural stability and is widely used for seam welding wheels, hot runner sealing rings, high-voltage switch contacts, and mold chill rings. With a permeability of less than 1.001, the material is non-magnetic and suitable for high-frequency induction and sensor applications.

Key Performance Advantages
Compared to the traditional C17200, the C17510 beryllium nickel copper ring offers greater electrical and thermal efficiency, hence reducing processing time and prolonging electrode service life. At 400°C, it keeps its strength and hardness constant, avoiding the typical thermal softening of copper alloys.
Internal porosity is eliminated by the forged dense structure, which performs steadily under prolonged friction and heat cycling. It has spark-proof qualities for safe usage in combustible and explosive settings, and it resists fretting and adhesion during dynamic sealing action.
Application Scenarios
Resistance welding is used to stabilize current transmission and lower the frequency of electrode change in seam welding wheels.
Injection molding: Reduces product warpage and speeds up heat dissipation by acting as mold chill rings and hot runner sealing rings.
Die casting: Used as plunger rings to prevent metal adhesion and heat shock.
Power Industry: Suitable for consistent conductive performance on high-voltage switch contact faces.
Quality Control Process
Every product is put through full-process testing: multi-point HRB hardness testing guaranties a consistent hardening effect; eddy current testing guarantees conductivity compliance; ultrasonic testing removes internal defects; and ICP-OES chemical detection confirms alloy component ratio. Every batch has full production traceability and an EN 10204 3.1 test certificate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What's the difference between C17510 and C17200?
A1: C17510 has 45–60% IACS high conductivity for heat and current transfer scenarios, while C17200 has higher hardness but only 20% IACS, not applicable for high-conductivity working conditions.
Q2: Can C17510 rings be machined after hardening?
A2: Yes. Finish machining with carbide tools after TF00 aging treatment ensures stable product dimensions without subsequent deformation.
Q3: Are C17510 beryllium components safe to use?
A3: Solid rings are safe for daily handling. Professional ventilation and PPE are only required during grinding and cutting processes that produce dust.
Q4: What are the benefits of nickel alloying?
A4: Nickel improves the high-temperature stability and corrosion resistance of the alloy, with lower procurement cost compared to cobalt-based beryllium copper materials.
Q5: How to store C17510 rings?
A5: Store in dry and low-humidity environments away from corrosive substances. The alloy has stable oxidation resistance and will not affect usage performance after long-term storage.
