Description

C17200 Beryllium Copper Coil for High-Speed Stamping — Precision Coil with Maximum Spring Resilience

C17200 Beryllium Copper Coil (Alloy 25 / CuBe2 / UNS C17200) is a precipitation-hardening copper alloy designed for continuous high-speed stamping. With 1.80–2.00% beryllium content, its tensile strength hits 1110–1320 MPa after aging, with a minimum thickness of 0.05mm. The material meets the elastic limit and fatigue resistance demands of precision electronic connectors and spring parts. Established in 1997, Dongguan Jiaye Dingsheng Precision Casting & Forging Co., Ltd. has 25+ years of alloy production experience, supplying certified coils with ISO 9001, RoHS and MTC 3.1 qualification.

What Is C17200 Beryllium Copper Coil?

C17200 is the highest-strength commercial copper alloy available in coil form. It contains 1.80–2.00% beryllium, over 0.20% cobalt and nickel, with copper as the remaining composition. Supplied in TB00 annealed temper, it supports deep drawing, bending and blanking. After stamping, parts can be heat-treated at 315°C for 2–3 hours to achieve stable mechanical data, with 950–1150 MPa yield strength and 36–42 HRC hardness. This two-step processing avoids cracking issues during forming of high-strength materials.

Key Product Advantages

C17200 Beryllium Copper Coil maintains consistent dimensional tolerance in line with ASTM standards, reducing die adjustment downtime and production defects. After aging, the material maintains stable elastic performance to avoid permanent deformation during long-term repeated cycling and 150°C high-temperature operation. Non-magnetic and spark-resistant properties adapt to instrument and flammable working environments. Its fatigue resistance outperforms common phosphor bronze, with stable performance for high-frequency operating parts. It also resists tarnish, salt fog and chemical erosion to stabilize component signal performance.

Application Fields

Application Scenarios

This coil is widely used for high-speed stamping of miniature electronic connectors and shielding gaskets. It fits automotive electrification parts like EV battery terminals that require high-temperature stress relaxation resistance. It also applies to aerospace EMI shielding parts, oil and gas downhole sensors, as well as industrial relay springs and pressure diaphragms, adapting to multiple complex working conditions.

We provide customized coil sizes from 0.05–2.0mm thickness and 10–400mm width, with optional temper states and packaging solutions. Professional technical support is available for heat treatment and material selection. Custom orders get 24-hour quotations, and in-stock goods ship within 3–5 working days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Is heat treatment required after stamping?
A1: Yes. Precipitation hardening at 315°C for 2–3 hours is required to upgrade the mechanical properties of stamped parts.

Q2: Is solid C17200 coil safe for daily handling?
A2: Solid coils cause no safety risk. Protective measures are only needed for grinding, welding and other processing procedures.

Q3: How does it differ from phosphor bronze?
A3: It has higher tensile strength and thermal stability, lowering failure rates for high-cycle miniature components.

Q4: Can the material be plated and soldered?
A4: Yes, it supports multiple plating processes. Surface cleaning is required before processing to ensure adhesion.

Q5: Which temper suits complex stamping parts?
A5: TB00 annealed temper is suitable for complex bending and deep drawing, followed by aging hardening.
