Description
C17200 Beryllium Copper Plate RWMA Class 4 — High-Strength Alloy for Heavy-Duty Welding & Mold Applications
C17200 Beryllium Copper Plate Rwma 4 precipitation hardened copper alloy utilised in high demanding industrial working environments. The alloy composition is characterised by a tensile strength of 1100–1300 MPa and a hardness of HRC 36–45 in the TH04 full ageing condition, stable for long-term mechanical operation. It possesses 17-25% IACS electrical conductivity and 105-130 W/m.K thermal conductivity. Dongguan Jiaye Dingsheng Precision Casting & Forging Co., Ltd. was established in 1997 and has more than 25 years of expertise in copper alloy manufacturing. We provide reliable, compliant completed plates to worldwide B-end customers.
What Is C17200 Beryllium Copper RWMA Class 4?
C17200 Beryllium Copper Plate RWMA is 1.8-2.0% beryllium, with trace cobalt and nickel, with copper being the balance. It differs from RWMA Class 2 and Class 3 alloys by emphasising mechanical strength and wear resistance rather than conductivity, suitable for high-pressure working conditions.
The product is manufactured to ASTM B194 specifications and retains a steady thickness, flatness and grain structure for repeatable performance following heat treatment.

Key Performance Advantages
- Stable mechanical strength: Stable bearing capacity among typical industrial copper alloys, and long term pneumatic and hydraulic clamping pressure without deformation.
- Thermal stability attained: Effective heat dissipation decreases thermal fatigue during continuous welding, ensuring structural stability under cyclic high-temperature conditions.
- Non-sparking performance: Suitable for aerospace, oil and gas environments, in accordance with the safety operating standards of certain industrial situations.
- Flexible heat treatment: Possibility of pre-machining in annealed condition and subsequent ageing hardening, leading to cheaper total processing costs.
- Excellent wear resistance: resistance to abrasion by improved resin materials for moulding applications, increasing the lifespan of mould core pins and inserts.
Primary Application Areas
- Resistance Welding Equipment Applicable to RWMA Class 4 welding electrodes and flash welding dies Applicable to high pressure welding production requiring anti-deformation performance
- Injection Mould Tooling: Used for mould cores and cavities. Fast heat dissipation may reduce the moulding cycle and stabilise the C17200 Beryllium Copper Plate Rwma forming effect.
- Aerospace & Oil Gas Parts: Made into non-sparking tools, bearings and bushings, to be able to resist high stress and corrosive working situations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: C17200 vs C17500, how to select?
A1: C17200 is better suited for high-pressure welding applications requiring hardness and wear resistance. C17500 is more suitable for high-current welding applications requiring conductivity.
Q2: Can I manufacture the toughened plate directly?
A2: For exact tolerance control, rough machining should be done in the annealed condition, and final machining should be done following aging treatment.
Q3: What safety precautions need to be taken to process?
A3: Solid plates are safe for everyday handling; however, grinding and cutting require ventilation and protective equipment to prevent inhalation of dust.
Q4: What is the normal heat treatment process?
A4: First, adopt solution annealing, then maintain aging hardening at 315–325°C for 2–3 hours to attain TH04 standard performance.
Q5: What sizes may be custom made?
A5: The thickness is 10–150 mm, and the width and length can be adjusted according to different equipment assembly requirements.
