Description
C17200 Beryllium Copper Hexagonal & Square Bar — High-Strength Precision Profiles for Demanding Industrial Applications
C17200 Beryllium Copper Hexagonal & Square Bar (Alloy 25) The greatest strength copper-based material available. Tensile strength up to 1,400 MPa after precipitation hardening. These bars include 1.8%–2.0% of beryllium, and minimum 0.20% Cobalt + Nickel. Hardness: HRC 36–45, Thermal conductivity: 105 W/m·K Electrical conductivity: 17–28% IACS. All bars are manufactured using ISO 9001 certified techniques and are fully compliant with RoHS and REACH. Each bar is supplied with a Mill Test Certificate showing chemical composition, hardness and conductivity data. Stock products delivered within 3-5 days.
What Makes C17200 Beryllium Copper Bar Different From Standard Alloys?
Standard copper alloys cannot achieve high mechanical strength, thermal conductivity and non-magnetic characteristics together. This is addressed by C17200 Beryllium Copper Hexagonal & Square Bar which combines the precipitation hardening response of beryllium with native conductivity of copper.
This results in a material that outperforms 300 series stainless steel in chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking conditions, resists galling under large sliding loads and does not emit sparks in explosive atmospheres.
The hexagonal and square profiles give additional level of functionality. The flat sides allow for direct wrench contact for high-torque assembly, and the parallel surfaces make CNC setup easier for cross-drilled ports in manifold blocks – something a round bar just can’t do.

Available Sizes & Tempers
| Parameter | Details |
|---|---|
| Profile | Hexagonal & Square |
| Size Range (Across Flats) | Custom — contact us for available dimensions |
| Length | 1,000 mm – 3,000 mm or custom cut |
| Temper TD04 | Work-hardened (hard drawn) — good strength, ready to use |
| Temper TF00 | Solution annealed + precipitation aged — maximum mechanical properties |
| Dimensional Tolerance | h9–h11 geometric tolerance for CNC Swiss-turning compatibility |
Both tempers are available. If you need maximum hardness for tooling inserts, TF00 is the correct choice. If you need moderate hardness with easier secondary forming, TD04 is more practical.
Key Performance Advantages
Stable high hardness: The TF00 ageing treatment provides a stable high hardness and is appropriate for wear-resistant mould inserts and bushing parts.
Non-magnetic, non-sparking: Suitable for use in flammable, explosive and precise detecting equipment operating environment.
Stable mechanical resistance: long-term stable performance under cyclic fatigue load and hydrogen embrittlement.
Good corrosion resistance: Stable performance in marine and organic acid environment, appropriate for hard industrial condition.
Typical Application Areas
It is widely processed into oil and gas downhole tools and MWD sensor shells with stable non-magnetic performance. It serves aerospace actuating system bushings and wear plates to resist vibration and friction heat. It also applies to injection mold core pins and cavity inserts, speeding up mold heat dissipation and improving production efficiency.

Quality Control Process
All products pass five major inspection procedures including hardness testing, conductivity calibration, grain size analysis, ultrasonic flaw detection and dimensional tolerance verification. Full-process quality traceability is implemented, with complete MTC test documents delivered with goods.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What is the difference between TD04 and TF00 temper?
A1: TD04 is work-hardened for conventional use; TF00 is solution-aged for maximum hardness and strength, suitable for tooling parts.
Q2: Is the material safe for machining?
A2: Solid bars are safe to process. Dust and smoke ventilation measures are required during cutting and grinding.
Q3: How is its corrosion resistance compared with stainless steel?
A3: It shows better resistance to chloride stress corrosion than 300-series stainless steel.
Q4: Is welding processing available?
A4: Welding is not recommended, as welding heat will damage the material's precipitation hardening structure.
Q5: What are the advantages of square/hexagonal bars over round bars?
A5: Flat sides simplify CNC positioning and cross-hole machining, ensuring stable high-pressure assembly sealing.
Q6: Are customized specifications supported?
A6: Custom size, length and temper parameters are available with professional technical consultation.
