Description

Cube2 Rod (C17200 Beryllium Copper) – High-Strength Alloy Bar for Aerospace, Oil & Gas, and Electronics

Cube2 Rod (C17200 Beryllium Copper) is a high-strength copper alloy widely adopted in industrial precision manufacturing. Manufactured by Dongguan Jiaye Dingsheng with 25+ years of production experience, the material contains 1.80–2.00% beryllium. After aging treatment, its tensile strength reaches up to 1480 MPa with HRC 45 maximum hardness, while conductivity stays at 22–28% IACS and thermal conductivity at 105 W/m·K. All batches support EN 10204 3.1 MTC certification, conforming to ISO 9001, RoHS and REACH standards.

What Is Cube2 Rod and Why Does It Matter?

Most common conductive copper materials cannot balance mechanical strength and conductive performance. Cube2 Rod (C17200 Beryllium Copper) solves this industry pain point via precipitation hardening treatment. After solution annealing and 2–3 hours of constant-temperature aging at 315°C, the alloy changes from soft machinable status (HRB 60–85) to hardened status (HRC 36–42).

It is non-magnetic and non-sparking. This eliminates ignite hazards in combustible workplace conditions and electromagnetic interference to precise sensor equipment, adjusting to situations where steel materials cannot perform reliably.

Core Application Areas

Aerospace & Defence: Applied to landing gear bushings and actuator parts providing steady performance under long-term vibration and severe load.

Oil & Gas: Used in MWD Drilling Tools. Non-magnetic architecture provides accurate downhole sensor data, adaptable to corrosive oilfield settings.

Electronics & Telecommunications: Great for elastic connections and test probes, consistent elasticity and conductivity after millions of cycles of operation.

Safety Equipment: Non-sparking property facilitates component manufacturing for chemical and explosive flammable explosion-proof working environments.

Application Fields

Quality Control Protocol

All rods undergo a five-stage complete examination before delivery including OES chemical detection, ASTM E8 mechanical tension testing, cross-section hardness testing, ASTM E587 ultrasonic nondestructive defect detection and grain microstructure inspection. Unqualified items will be reprocessed for batch stability.

Machining and Safety Guidance

This alloy supports conventional CNC machining. C17200 fits structural load scenarios, while C17300 is suitable for high-volume automated processing. Wet cutting or vacuum dust removal equipment must be equipped during processing to meet industrial safety specifications. Multiple surface treatments including grinding and pickling are available.

Corrosion Performance

It is resistant to corrosion of saltwater and biological fouling, and stable in oilfield brine and hydrogen-rich conditions without embrittlement.

It may be used for marine connections and offshore drilling parts without the need for extra surface protection treatment.
