Description
Cuni2be Rod (C17510) for Resistance Welding & Precision Molding — High Conductivity Meets Structural Strength
Cuni2be Rod (C17510 / CuNi2Be) is a precipitation-hardening copper-nickel-beryllium alloy, widely used for scenarios requiring both stable conductivity and mechanical strength. Containing 1.4–2.2% nickel and 0.2–0.6% beryllium, the alloy features 45–60% IACS conductivity and 650–800 MPa tensile strength. Established in 1997, Dongguan Jiaye Dingsheng produces this rod via vacuum melting, precision rolling and standardized aging treatment. All products follow ISO 9001 management system and can be matched with complete MTC 3.1 test documents.

What Is Cuni2be Rod and Why Does It Matter?
Most conventional engineering materials have performance trade-offs: pure copper conducts current well but lacks structural strength, while steel provides stable strength with poor conductivity. Cuni2be Rod (C17510) solves this industry dilemma, with thermal conductivity of 210–250 W/m·K and stable structural performance under working temperature up to 450°C. It is applicable for resistance welding electrodes, injection mold inserts and subsea sensor parts that bear both thermal stress and mechanical load.

Material Composition & Metallurgical Advantages
This alloy uses nickel as the major strengthening ingredient instead of cobalt, and provides superior thermal stability than C17500 and meets the mainstream environmental rules on cobalt consumption. The NiBe precipitates generated during the ageing process obstruct the internal motion of dislocations, thus the material may retain a stable hardness and low resistivity.
Besides, it has non-magnetic and non-sparking qualities, suitable for oil, gas and mining working situations.
Product Performance Advantages
Stable conductive heat dissipation: Conductivity of 45-60% IACS minimises the heat buildup at the welding tip and minimises the frequency of electrode wear.
Safe inherent qualities: Non-sparking and non-magnetic are material inherent properties, no further processing is needed for explosion-proof working environments.
High dimensional tolerance: h9-h11 dimensional precision decreases the CNC pre-processing adjustment workload and enhances production efficiency.
Application Scenarios
The material is often used for making resistance welding electrodes and holders for welding stainless steel and high temperature alloys to prevent electrode deformation. It is used in plastic injection mould core and insert components to accelerate mould heat dissipation, shorten cooling cycles and decrease product distortion. It is also used for subsea and oil-gas connection shells and pressure-bearing parts. Adapting to the demanding undersea working environments by corrosion resistance and non-magnetic performance.
Quality Control Process
All rods are subject to a five-step examination before delivery including: OES component verification, full-length conductivity testing, cross-section hardness uniformity detection, ultrasonic internal fault inspection and dimensional tolerance calibration. Each batch is supplied with comprehensive MTC 3.1 certifications, to ensure traceability of the whole process from raw materials to final goods.

FAQ
Q1: What is the difference between C17510 and C17500?
A1: C17510 uses nickel strengthening with better thermal stability and no cobalt component, meeting stricter environmental access standards.
Q2: What safety measures are needed for machining?
A2: Adopt wet machining and ventilation treatment, and follow standard beryllium alloy processing specifications.
Q3: Is it available for explosion-proof safety parts?
A3: Yes, its inherent non-sparking property fits chemical, petroleum and other explosive environment equipment components.
Q4: What is the maximum working temperature?
A4: The material structure stays stable below 450°C; excessive temperature will trigger aging and reduce hardness.
Q5: What industry standards does it comply with?
A5: It meets ASTM B441 and RWMA Class 3 standards, with ISO 9001, RoHS and REACH certification.
